Of North Korea Poem by Francis Duggan

Of North Korea

Of North Korea and nuclear weapons of late so much we hear
But of super powers with weapons of mass destruction should we show less of fear
Than poor little North Korea and who are we to trust
Should those with nuclear weapons tell us what is right and just?

The North Koreans have been seeing what is happening in Afghanistan and Iraq
And who is to say their fears are not justified of on them an imminent attack
Since the war dogs at you growling attention you ought to pay
For they can turn very nasty if they do not get their way.

Far too many weapons of mass destruction in the World of today
And that none should have such destructive power at their disposal only seems fair to say
Many of those who condemn the North Koreans and Iranians for wanting to join the nuclear race
Would be doing the World a favour if they themselves done an about face

And get rid of their nuclear weapons and by good example lead
And the hungry of the World with the money they save feed
Then the likes of North Korea and Iran would not feel so under threat
That they would not need to be part of the race to humanity's death.
