Of Sights And Wonders Poem by Robert Rorabeck

Of Sights And Wonders

Defeated by long days of
Fieldtrips,
Little boys that never learned
How to fly just lie out
And dream of their
Mothers; they don’t practice
Anymore,
And the doors have shut
Them away from the
Contrary goldfish,
Not lucky anymore;
Maybe after all of the unluckiest
Of rabbits are dead,
And all of the pornographies
Have been found across the street
And read,
Across the gutters,
They will parcel themselves out
Like conquistadors
In their outdoor world
Of sights and
Wonders.
