Off The Track Poem by DEEPAK KUMAR PATTANAYAK

Off The Track

Rating: 5.0

Sometimes it so happens;
That best minds behaving erratic
Going afar off the track
Grieving flawless souls into panic
And holding to ransom is tragic
Call it idiosyncrasy
Call it eccentricity
Or call it whimsicality
More or less the same it picks
It happened sometime back
When sun was at its peak
And the day with radiance filled
Souls with its light and joy so enthusiastic
And the season aglow with fervour
Breathing festivity in the air
People seen in queues in banks
Encashing with great ardor
When heard gun shots in a bank
Being fired indiscriminately in the air
Now three masked men
Seen looting the bank at gun point
And decamped with money without resistance
A week passed without any trace
Though finally it was fixed with a revelation
That stunned the whole nation
That, three best engineering brains
Engineered the plot to see it executed with precision
Now what can be said of them
Youthful they are
Glowing with talent, vitality and vigour
And poverty not the cause of plunder
Yet out of fancy, they say
They committed this blunder……….

A deep poem in composition and we have to reconcile to this journey on and off the track.

Seeing best minds growing wicked and behaving erratic is very upsetting! The motive or urge behind some notorious actions often remain a mystery! Apple is a lovesome fruit... but one rotten apple in a pack can spoil many! The depravation of the brainy or the cream of the society is as foul as butter going rancid! A gruesome act is powerfully presented! !

Light and darkness, gladness and sadness- when great minds are used for great evil. What a waste! Could they not have used their brilliance to help to make better our lost planet? Powerful poem with a truth that makes the heart cry.

Once again a Beautiful write. People often go out of track, not because of poverty but when such blunder becomes their passion, nothing can be done. If they have utilised this brain in something, they would have definitely created history. Loved reading it.
