Off To The Gallows Poem by Amber Luna

Off To The Gallows

the mud is thick
and the puddles shallow
run away
and blame the shadow
here we go
off we march
with smiles big
and glossy hearts
to the gallows
off we tread
with glassy eyes
and big heads
the sun is out
aint it nice?
the puddles start to dry up
and so does your advice
is there something
going on here?
was that an empty look?
or was that a leer?
where can we go now?
is it near?
Im feeling tired
can i strain
just a little more?
we're on our way,
are we there?
this is more than i can bear
is that a tear
in my skin or in my soul?
this is more than i was told.
to the gallows off we tread
with glassy eyes
and big heads.
