Offence is Taken

Harm is given, but offence is taken,
Last time I checked
If I’m not most mistaken

But freedom of expression
Must have passed you by
Judging by your repression

You’d much prefer censorship
And cold pauses
And a fake friendship

Real people have real opinions
And I’m one of them
Not just one of your minions

I’d much rather talk it out
Than sit and boil
Even if we have to shout

Yes, I admit I was upset
I turned it back on you
And now I can only regret

But what did you expect?
Are human feelings
Such an alien concept?

Let’s sit down and talk it through
I just want some respect
I don’t want to fight with you

Dedicated to anyone who has ever been punished for expressing themselves.

Isn't that the truth...I was drawn in right a way from 'harm is given, offence is taken'....

I hate when people overreact to words said in haste...its like, chill- get over it, and talk it out....but women tend to be irrational ;)

Fantastic idea, executed really well. You talk a lot of sense.
