Oh darkness oh darkness, we are united once more

Embraced with the familiar feeling I felt before

Rap me in your cloak of shadows and carry me home

Shield me from the unfriendly faces that won’t leave me alone

Oh darkness, oh darkness we see each other at last

Our time together has gone by so fast

Time itself stops when I’m in your grip

Sung asleep by your melodies on your sinking ship

Oh darkness, oh darkness come out to play

Frolic merrily with me until its day

For on this day, I will let it be known

That the light that hides inside you was reluctantly shown

Oh darkness, oh darkness why hide your might

Step out of your den and into the light

For if you do, I will let you see

The world you helped create is not what you thought it to be

The flowers you created did not wither and die

And the humans you created did not shiver and lie

Your embrace is warm yet your tone is so cold

You keep yourself locked up in your icy fortress hold

And what a shame that is oh darkness, you’re the best of them all

An example of how the greatest of angels can fall
