Oh, How Keen The Wedge Is Driven Poem by Anonymous British

Oh, How Keen The Wedge Is Driven

Oh, how keen the wedge is driven
In fond hearts by words that sting -
Words that ever stand out boldly,
Though years pass and changes ring,
Unkind words ever better banished
From the lips of old and young,
Each should learn and heed the motto
Let a guard before thy tongue.

Oh, yes! A very wise lesson to learn. Think twice, speak once! Amazing how words can cut so very deeply into the soul, and once spoken can never be taken back. Nice write!
