Oh This Is It Poem by Max McGovern

Oh This Is It

Oh this is it,
The co-keds multiplied by 50
Inversed and then squared off
And separated
Cut and hyberbolized.

This is for all the walls,
The ones who can’t sense a thing
Or a “not” thing worth a damn thing.
D’ya hear the telephone ring?
Ring!
Ring!
Ring!
Ring!

The ones who,
Never saw the stars incapable of
Ceasing an utterly scary complex matrix of motion.

The ones who
don’t understand,
Never seeing the clouds the same way again.

The ones who,
Never thought to
Surmise the world and all its lies
At sixteen at six a.m.
After the pain set in.

I am the one who,
Felt the rise
Of a third eye at age thirteen
and heard its lone explosion in pre-dream.

Its powerful piercing fixed
the physical figuring of things
allowing the “wow! ”ing
and seeing that it brings.

When they called the am-
Phetamines
They
mixed up all of everything
The whole entire
Mass and mean
It ripped itself apart.
