Old Fable Poem by Ragy Sandid

Old Fable

The cold hard facts
This person has a handycam
This doesn’t protract
The person of sham

Handycam records image
The person records the memory
The person prevents the damage
This memory will cause to reality

Who is this mystery person?
Who hides in layman’s guise?
The same one you laid eyes on
When life suddenly opened your eyes.

Mystery may have died or remains
But we never saw the handycam
We saw them carry our stain
Forbearers of now our sham

We ask now that we have the handycam
How much distance between us and them
We knew that one day we wouldn’t give a damn
The difference is they’ve seen us, we haven’t seen them.
