Old Feelings. Poem by Alison Rosalie

Old Feelings.

i can hardly put my hand
to my sparkler heart
without remembering when
your smile made my stomach
swivel and twist;
your skyeyes would watch
everyone but me, gaze,
fixed, on a separate entity
and i would sit somberly,
wond'ring if you saw me
staring, watching and waiting
for you to feel something
and
it's not a wonder
i never believed you,
swore you weren't telling
half a truth but
it grew.
how?
somehow we just knew
sometimes i just sit there
staring off at you.
