Old is Gold Always!

Nothing like an old black-board;
Nothing like the chalk-pencil;
Nothing like a book to write-
Old things time-tested!

Nothing like a house of wood;
Nothing like a thatched-leaf-roof;
Nothing like a bed of hay-
Old things time withstood!

Nothing like the songs of birds;
Nothing like a pup at play;
Nothing like a sandy shore-
Old things of beauty!

Nothing like a broom of sticks;
Nothing like a cool sea-breeze;
Nothing like a bamboo-flute-
Old things best always!

Nothing like a mother’s care;
Nothing like a father’s toil;
Nothing like the Maker’s love
of creatures whom He made!
