Old Western Style Poem by Marilyn Lott

Old Western Style

Something was about to change
The air was filled with tension
Cowboys sat atop their horses
What was it no one would mention?

A stranger had entered the scene
Nods and looks were spread around
Something was about to happen
Even though there was barely a sound

Suddenly men rode up with guns drawn
It was coming to a head
Like a fuse that was lit and burnin’
The air would soon be filled with lead

But thank goodness it was not real, it was
A dramatization of back in the old west
What a time it was back then
It was a difficult lifestyle at best

But it’s kind of fun to turn back clocks
Dress up if just for a little while
Stop and realize what life was like
Back in the Old Western Style!
