On And On Poem by Chhavi Anupam

On And On

Rating: 4.5

This long
placid stretch
of sand
on the beach.

In this deep night
with a
glowing moon
in sight.

The sound
of the crashing waves
touch
my feet.

Again
then again;
imploring
that i,

accept them,
embrace
and sink
in them.

And wave off
this earth;
but i keep
strolling on,

gasping
at the moon,
just looking at it,
on and on.

Moon does
not fall
into my lap
howsoever hard,

I wish,
crave
or
aspire.

As i do not
for the waves,
that
with renewed,

vigor,
passion
and fury
cry and crash,

at my feet
on and on,
but unfazed i stroll
....on and on!
