On Breathless Whispers Poem by Brian Kilpatrick

On Breathless Whispers

On breathless whispers
Love so true
Words held so tightly
To conceal the feelings
One’s true love should only find

What wanders about the heart and mind
To make you blush and smile
Will tickle my heart all the while
For on your face my whole world waits
Like child’s toy from its place

When at last side by side my heart is soothed
With eternal music from your lips
Passion rises, from its pools I sip
Loves intoxication runs it course
With an oceans mighty force

When at last the storm subsides
On breathless whispers do we ride
On breathless whispers
Love so true
Words held so tightly
For me and for you
