On My Birthday... Poem by Geeta Nair

As dawn woke me up today,
I felt some special this day,
Day being center of attraction
My heart worn in brightest attire,
Makeup of broadest smile
I was to blow off candles
To mark my addition
Of one more era of life.
Lots of surprises started pouring,
From my best pals I received
Blossoms of affection,
Gifts of love wrapped with
Warm good wishes,
Peck of sweets,
Hugs of compassion,
I was like moon
Surrounded by many stars,
I was looked upon like a rose
In the garden of flowers,
Air was filled with Clatter –chatter
My heart was gliding with bliss,
Immense ecstatic ness I felt
On my birthday.
