On Reading Wessex Poems Poem by Bijay Kant Dubey

On Reading Wessex Poems

A poet of Dorsetshire,
Wessex,
He is Lawrentine,
Wordsworthian
Sketching the things
With the personal paint
Of human tragedy and loss.

An Orwell,
A Shaw,
A Larkin
His is an anti-thesis
In revolt against
The Divine set-up of things,
Man and poor destiny
As assigned to him.

A writer fatalistic,
Pessimistic
And so individualistic
With a strange love for
Art and architecture
Combined with skill and training
In the same domain.
