On The Ocean Strand Poem by Valsa George

On The Ocean Strand

Rating: 5.0

I stand on the wet sand
Of the vast ocean strand
Before me the waters roar
Like a charging wild boar

It is springing closer
As a cheetah after a deer
Sure it will subdue me
This hungry predator called the sea

But what wonder, it lay prostrate
Humbly kissing my feet
With awe my whole being filled
And in my eyes tears welled

They ran down before I could restrain
Mingling with the mighty ocean
Thus it moves carrying a speck of me
In its stirring bosom till the end of time

Lo, how I am now in motion
As part of the mighty ocean!

It is springing closer As a cheetah after a deer Sure it will subdue me This hungry predator called the sea.....so touching and impressive expression with nice metaphor. A great philosophy is lying here too. Beautiful poem. Thanks for sharing.

Oh wow, I feel carried away by this poem. I love the sea, and this makes me feel like I'm so close to it. Another favourite for me to savour again in the future. Thank you Valsa.

nature is both savage and kind and does generate emotions of awe and fear as also of sedate calmness. The ocean carrying a 'speck of self' till the end of time eternalise and makes you one with the Infinity...... Loved it.

The analogy of the hungry predator and the sea, though it is a for a moment is a little atrocious I think. The realization of the poet that follows has to smell a little of repentance perhaps. The ending lines have done poetic justice against the poetic license that is exercised initially and that settles the matter.

Thoughtful write Valsa. Very true said about life...When one stand in fear, that the ocean will surely subdue one like a prey, but the same ocean when humbly kisses the feet, one will feel surprised.....very true said in lines....And in my eyes tears welled. The thoughts takes no time to change. The fear is turned into love....Loved the way you presented it.
