Rushing out of my invisible door
with no sword and in no war
kept a fistful of soil i grabbed from beneath my feet
and of this possession am so discreet
a thoughtful redirection of attention
to eliminate the fear and cast aside the tension
and a face approaches as a i tighten up my grip
wouldn't want the soil to slip
bare feet on grass, head hid in the upper cloud
life on the other side of my skin goes loud
i fear not you but keep your distance
intimidated deep inside from your persistence
with uncertainty he knots his fingers through mine, skin on skin
a touch that overshadowed all the fears within
a sigh that bid the arrogant me to kneel
flood my consciousness when it felt safe to feel
unfastened my clutch to cling back to his fingers
my heart could bound no faster, truly wished it lingers
no cautious guards no sand
i want forever to hold his hand
