On Track - Poem by Tina Chan

On Track
For the tracks are endless
So many different paths
Left or right
My Metro Card swiped
My fare is paid
For the tracks switched several times, I was immensely sidetracked
That the destination is not where I was going
To an unknown destination
To an unfamiliar territory
Taking me to a place where I was unhappy
Where I was disrespected
In the dark
For too long

On Track
How the rail clicks
Endless miles of tracks
Independently a train moves
For I am happily single
No longer diverted to another route

On Track
Back on track
On my way to wholeness again
Focused and determined
A lull has reached
