Once in a while,
You just sit and stare,
With your fingers,
You twirl your hair.
He set off to sail,
In the dangerous bay,
His dream came true,
You remember that day.
You're on the veranda,
Just relaxing with time,
All by yourself,
You don't give a dime.
You keep staring at nothing,
Having awful flashbacks,
About the day he never returned,
It was a terrible crash.
They found the cliff,
And the damaged deck,
But they found no bodies,
It was an awful wreck.
The funeral came,
It went and now it's gone,
You just sit and stare,
As the sun goes down.
Nothing to say,
Nothing to hear,
Just counting the days,
Until he returns.
Your heart says he will,
Your mind says he's not,
This is a battle,
THat you've always fought.
So now you're just waiting,
Spending time, with time.
Enjoying your days,
Waiting for your last sigh.
