Once Upon A Feverish Dream Poem by Wenjun Liu

Once Upon A Feverish Dream

Stray cat wandering with hungry eyes
Leaves dripping in dusty light
Eyes cloudy under a cloud heavy sky.

Hair clip loose from wayward hair.
Shamrock design on a summer dress fair.
Into the chamber frayed and gray,
a thousand shadows danced a ballet.
On a snowwhite pillow a windblown leaf lay.

Once upon a feverish dream
You were closer to me than ever could be.
