Once Was Love Poem by Mihaela Pirjol

Once Was Love

Rating: 5.0

I had a love, and a vision of a Dove;
We shared passion: both in love;
We soared it on its wings—a fire-ball!
In abyss then, —cold felt its fall.

I pondered, and I wondered in my heart;
Time stopped...and I was caught...
Long now I lingered at the border
Between sanity—and madness, a little longer!

To tame my heart, I disciplined my mind:
Dissecting pain, it became clear—no blind!
And through my veins its bitterness I felt it grey,
And day by day, that venom washed away.

And there...where once was tender love:
It's cold and closed—a heavy door!
Until it is knocked with an open heart,
My love is resting, for a new start.
