One Day Poem by Laura Buchanan

One Day

One day
I will not have to explain myself
I will be able to walk with my head held high
I will be able to be proud of myself

One day
You shall know my suffering
You shall realize that other’s matter
You shall not judge people with such authority

One day
The world will be free
The world will not be held with a chain of discrimination
The world will be a place of freedom, peace and harmony

One day
Nobody will be made to feel inferior
Nobody will be superior
Nobody will discriminate

One day
That’s what I hope for
What everyone should hope for
A world where everyone can live without a cloud of doubt over his or her head

One Day
