One God-Awful Mess Poem by James B. Earley

One God-Awful Mess

Multitudinous Religions
….One God-awful mess
Heaven’s earthly exam…
Simply failing God’s test

If I choose intolerance
Blaming it all on my faith
If I claim....hearing voices
Channeling thoughts God saith

Would you see the imposter
The hypocrite the fraud
The masquerading bigot
…..Reflectively…awed

‘Tis that mirrored conundrum
Fundamentalism embrace
…..Religion….appears suspect
So goes….the human race

For Mankind’s…..Religions
….One God-awful mess
Heaven’s earthly....exam…
Radically failing...God’s test

Author's Note:
“Hindus, in their capacity for love, are indeed hairless Christians, just as Muslims, in the way they see God in everything, are bearded Hindus, and Christians, in their devotion to God, are hat wearing Muslims.”
