One In A Million Poem by Monesh Kumar

One In A Million

Rating: 5.0

(i wrote this as a contribution towards....'Earth Hour')

A heavenly orb
Whirling third from the sun
Out of a Million
Life exists on only one
Has anyone ever realised
How lucky we are
To be on that one in a million
Yet we lead it to mar

Life on earth was sunny before
As it was free of impurity
Garden-fresh air filled our lungs
And we enjoyed natures beauty
All thanks to the miraculous blanket
That shields our planet earth
Protecting us fromt he sun's fury
Under which our souls may forget mirth

But the sunny life is now dwindling
And it will vanish before our eyes
Unless we do something now
we'll be as feeble as mice
Pollution is up-surging
All because of our blunder
And the miraculous blanket is dying
And it's only us who can help it hinder

Imagine this
You're out to tan how you looked
But you return home horrendously
As if you've been cooked
Or your spot on the beach
Where you stood and chatter
Gets fished by the ocean
As a result of rising sea-water

As the saying goes
'You get what u plant'
The bitter consequences of pollution
Is definetly not what we want
If the world is not rescued now
From the ridiculous actions of men
The matter of apocalypse will not be 'how'
it will be, , , , , , , 'When'
