It’s the day that remains
Forever in mind
You smiled and softly whispered
Please don’t cry.

Sorrow screaming
In your eyes
Yet you smiled and reassured me
It’s not good-bye.

Gently catching
Every dropp of tear
Aware it would be awhile
Till I held you near.

Day so pleasant,
So memorable and yet so long
Within seconds
This precious moment
Will be gone.

One last hug
And one lasting kiss
The day was ending
