One More Kernel
sand trap between rice stalks
when rubber came thundering
leaves no longer green but gray
soon it will dry up, won't be hay
pebbles pillow, crop gone bad
grain wasted, hope never had
roads getting wider for traffic
more people needs to move
to get paid, feed, bed, laid
work is hard to find, food too
nobody wants to plant any
too long to wait, your guess
