One-Sided (C) 8-30-2010

What would a smile be if only half of your mouth lifted?
What would a present be if only the box was gifted?
What would pure water be if through it was never sifted?
What sense would a rift be if you never tripped in?

What would be the point of living life without a meaning?
What would be the point of band-aids if we’re never bleeding?
What sense would it make to follow you if I know you’re misleading?
What hope can I baby have for food if it’s never teething?

What is the point of having a vehicle if you never ride it?
What’s the point of a life form with no heart inside it?
Why would anyone attend a party if they weren’t invited?
What’s the point of being in love if it’s one-sided.
