One Single Night Poem by Aishwarya Misra

One Single Night

Rating: 4.0

Being all lonely at the night
You think what's wrong and what is right
Nothing comes to your mind as such
But you don't even feel sleepy so much
You think about the day that passed
How, by studies, you got harassed
The food you ate, the books you touched
The arms you shook and the stomach you crunched
Your teddy looks at you with his big black eyes
Seems like tries to find all the lies
You stop the eye-contact at once and look down
You remember its not real, its like a clown
Only difference is you don't hug a clown;
You hug your teddy every time you are down
You think then about the fun you had
Were you good or were you bad
Slowly you feel like lying down and sleeping
Then you remember you weren't sleepy at all
You go and turn on the T.V. in the dining hall
Nothing good is up except the silly soaps
Everyone in which, everyone, just mopes and mopes
You decide to listen to your favorite songs on the player
You find it has no battery and you wish you were a slayer
You tip-toe to your brother's room
While wishing you had a magic-broom
You steal, no ‘borrow' the sleeping sibling's player
Suddenly you feel like the Townsville's mayor
A sound behind, the ruffle of blanket you hear
You have to just run, your strategy is clear
You come back to you room a winner
Its just a player, no need to feel like a sinner
You listen to the sings
You remember the day's ding-dongs
A smile spreads upon your till-now placid face
Sleep seems to be coming now at a rapid face
You close your eyes and whisper good night
While thinking about the adventures of this single night
How it begun on a boring note
Your mind like aboard a sinking boat
How much you changed it and made it awesome
Your mind had become as fresh as blossom
Sinking into sleep you think it is right
How much you can do in one single night!

hmmm...lots of creepy thoughts crawl into your head, hope they never turn into bugs that haunt the bed: p...well actually I like the flow of this poem...it is sweet yet it expresses little confusions that get the better of us at times...keep on writing I'm sure you can do much better. Cheers =)
