Treasure Island

(7th October The Summer of Love / Leeds)

One (Strategically Placed Tattoo)

One is the loneliest number that you will ever know
One hope for redemption from the darkness below
One more time I will open this broken heart
One more Saturday night dancing like a tart
One more drink a never-ending temptation
One long stop at procrastination station
One more secret I’ve been sworn to keep
One last cigarette before I go to sleep
One sailor all dressed in white and blue
One girl is searching, looking for who?
One burning desire to swim in your skin
One chance to show you how we can win
One more profile looking for a spark
One more lover fumbling in the dark
One wish that this time came true
One strategically placed tattoo
One hero to catch me when I fall
One love that will conquer all
One light still burning for you
One day we all find a home
One road no need to roam
One damn day at a time
One belief you are mine
One fresh new start
One bleeding heart
One love

poet Henry Lawson

The old year went, and the new returned, in the withering weeks of drought,
The cheque was spent that the shearer earned,
and the sheds were all cut out;
