Only Fall Poem by Vallerie Lobell

Only Fall

Rating: 5.0

The cool wind blew freely making my hair cover my face,
I recalled a line from D. H. Lawrence's 'Lady Chatterley's Lover',
About hiding one's face and baring all other places,
To feel the breeze with my body uncovered,

Don't know why such a thought crossed my mind,
The beauty of the season stirring me inside,
The beginning of renewal is what I find,
Trees provocatively undress, unlike me they're not shy,

But it feels of rebirth more than New Years Day,
It causes my mind to ponder over many things,
Why ones I loved best had to go away,
A solitude and yearning that only Fall brings,
