Stephen Cahill Furlong (23 August 1992 / Holles Street, Dublin, Republic of Ireland)
You live near the opposite end of the capital,
But that's okay.
It's only unfortunate when
I have way too much to say.
No matter how many celebrities
Or supermodels may flirt with me,
It's only when I spend a little bit of time with you
Do I really feel set free.
Since swapping college courses,
It's been a hard year being apart.
Our hellos and talks have become very seldom,
Your distance strikes my heart with a dart.
I am yours; it's only you I want to love,
This declaration coming from your faithful admirer.
Thinking back to all the chats we've had together
Just sets my world on fire.
It's only you I want to date.
You've got a kitten-like quality I can't forget.
How I long to hold you in my arms
And make you my perfect little pet.
I understand it may yet be too soon
To know whether or not you're my soulmate.
My heart and mind make me feel like you are,
But I suppose this is a decision for fate.
This is my third poem about you,
So you know you're special.
And if winning your heart means waiting ‘til the final hour,
Then wait until the final hour I shall.
