Open Poem by Annie Mark

Open

Feels like the skin is tearing off my face
Slowly and painfully
The rips in heart are throbbing
And I try to ease into a vacuum in my head
The loss of you...
Still scarred into my memory

So much that I try to not think at all.
Of how your face looked when first you laughed with me
Or how it feels to walk into your arms
And smell your unique smell
Of how I can breathe the changed air
As it blows over your hometown.

Come back.
Come back
Just come.
