Open The Past Poem by rachel smailliw

Open The Past

She covers her ears
She tells herself lies
To blanket the truth
That she's hiding inside

Crying red tears
Speaking her mind
In her little blank book
With thoughts of all kinds

Clearing her head
Closing her eyes
She sees the past
She starts to cry

Thoughts of all good
They belong to the past
This feeling of warmth
She knows it wont last

Back to reality
She wants it to end
She hangs her head
And refuses to bend

She waits till morning
She' still holding on
Hoping for better
She knows to stay strong
