The pain was sweet,
A reminder of life,
Of which is true,
Pain never lies,
Never twists life,
It is merely an obstacle,
That stands before the End,
It is that which brings comfort,
The final wait,
Before the final sleep,

I just happened upon this poem and I'm glad I did. It's breathtaking and very deep. I like that you kept the length rather short because that way it didn't detract from the meaning. I love it.
