Opinionated Poem by Francis Duggan

Opinionated

They expect me to hang on to every word to me they do say
The opinionated people i meet with every day
And if with their opinions i choose to disagree
They dismiss me as misinformed and as ignorant as can be
Their opinions on various subjects to them a very important thing
And of the praises of their depth of knowledge they do love to sing
They truly believe the truth to them does only belong
And in their righteous ways they feel they are never wrong
So full of themselves and their own self conceit
The people that i would prefer not to meet
But when they waylay me to them i do say
For to keep an appointment i am on my way
They have their opinions and this suits me fine
Though theirs happen to be very different to mine.
