Optic Deities Poem by Boghos Artinian

Optic Deities

Searing lasers they oft aim
At the cornea and retina
To torch cells by the millions
As at Sodom and Gomorrah.
Yet the intention, it is not,
Ofoptic deities,
As they restore sights divine,
To smite, with wrath, the laities!

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
God punished the people of Sodom and Gomorrah. In the case of ophthalmologists (optic deities)treating the Eyes with lasers, they are not punishing the cells (laities) . They are just causing collateral damage.
