Optimism Poem by Fiona Sunny

Optimism

Life is an endless road
Crowded with new and old motors
Day by day a distinct another
Peeps into the world's air
One step front would mean high esteem
And one back would mean fear
A little too brave is smartness beyond bounds
And a little less is hesitation cowardly

The pavements prove limits
While a lonely street shouts, ‘Encore! '
The road signs prophecy your fate
Just like those around you do it for you
A red signal may mean a tear off the eye
Which soon turns green - an encouragement of smiles
If a sudden dim covers your sight
Sooner or later, a day will shine

Decrease the coast as much as you can
Let the seaside by your road be free
It matters not if a shark is in there
If loneliness prevails, it should disappear
Though your destination may be far off the ordinary
Yet you'll reach it if you know how to elude junctions
As long as your fuel burns and you have no flat tires
You'll find it as true as the earth is proclaimed round

So, if you want to reap, sow
If you want to sleep, dream
If you have the lights, turn them on
And if you have or haven't known, believe
That as long as you have the fruit
And have at least one set of teeth
You better panic as you swallow -
Eat the fruit and not its seeds

motors: people
high esteem: pride
smartness beyond bounds: over smartness
coast: limit
