Ordinarily Poem by Mark Heathcote

Ordinarily

Ordinarily, I'm not some prehistoric barracuda
Ordinarily, I don't cry or screech likes an owl
Ordinarily, I don't haunch up like a Buddha,
Ordinarily, I don't betray my heart tooth & jowl.

Ordinarily, I'm a somewhat kind of simple man
Ordinarily, everything I do goes according to plan
Ordinarily, I'm as happy as any man can be
But that was before there were any you and me.
