Our Children Poem by Heather Burns

Our Children

Children has been forced into an adult
world of war and confusion. Trying to deal
with the mistakes of others. Sometimes
paying the ultimate price- their lives.

This should not happen

As I look into their sad eyes see the agony
on the small faces. Running for shelter.
Mistels overhead crashing into buildings.
Homes being destroyed. Families separated,
with no place to call home. A life so
uncertain.
Whoever is causing these conditions is wrong.

Our children are precious gifts from GOD
They were given to be loved, nurtured and
protected.

When adults error and make mistakes let them
deal with it. Let the children be children.
They are the future don't destroy it.

A very emotional poem, where a serious concern about the children was indicated who are unnecessarily harrassed all over for no fault of them.
