Our Dog In Certain Places Poem by Robert Melliard

Our Dog In Certain Places

There are places where our dog goes daft
and starts to prance and run in circles.
This can happen on a beach, on soft, dry sand,
in fluffy snow, or crossing mountain pastures,
on spongy, close-cropped turf.

One could probably find reasons
for such weird behaviour,
but I just like to see how wild she goes;
enjoy her fun;
her pointless, perfect show!
