Our Father In Heaven Please Save Our Daughter From Herself Poem by Ted Sheridan

Our Father In Heaven Please Save Our Daughter From Herself

Rating: 5.0

Daughter of ours
Destroyer
Heartbreaker
How could you?
Rip the last piece of a loving heart
From your mother’s chest
And stomp on it with your hate filled combat boots
Then not being content with her injuries
You drag it from our home
Into the street
Where you ran it over
With your car again and yet again
Your hate filled license to drive
Your dark hearted eyes
Focused on a tough road ahead
You set your demons free tonight child
Choosing to forget how we were always there
Protective and loving parents
We gave you everything
And you leave with nothing
You leave with nothing

Ted, I feel your pain, I am right now going thru this same thing with my 13 year old son. I am his stepfather, but I think alot of his hate & aggression stems from his real fathers lack of paticapation in his life. I wish you all the best, and god knows I feel for both you and yourwife. I know how bad this hurts for me, let alone how its killing his mother. This one really touched home for me as well 'Keep on inking the Pages' Poison

Sweetheart that hits home. Hard. I'm ashamed to say it is like looking in the mirror a few years ago. I wish I had looked into my parents' eyes instead. Good news though. They're my best friends now..... t xxx

this defiantly held my attention. Was able to see the whole innocent in my mind clearly. Not to mention the pain one would have to feel to write such a piece. Nice writing here. True or not, none of my business. as a poem worth reading more then once for me shows how to follow through with a thought.
