Our Fight Poem by richard belis

the fight for the right was always worth it,
at the break of dawn we fought until sundown,
we fought,

the fight was for the right to have freedom,
the right to have a say in our lives,
we fought for that right and every night,
we fought,

the fight was a hard one but was worth the outcome,
we fought from day to night,
we fought for each other for our rights,
we fought,

we fight and we won that fatal battle,
one person, one night came to me,
and said its all over our fight,
our fight for our right was finally over,

now we're all at one and we all love one another,
this was the fatal fight from day to night,
this was our suffrage from dawn to day break.
