Our Journey To The Sea Poem by Efren Petalver Carranza

Our Journey To The Sea

Rating: 5.0

I need no label, tag, or some kind of tattoo
Engraved on my skin
Just call me friend or best as I prefer
To carry you on to our journey

Glide my hands now to strum the river to sing with
The birds and winds whistling through… and through
The branches of trees that leaves no notes to follow
Far and beyond the majestic call of the sea

Remain on my lap as you watch the glorified love
The world - over and under the sea - has put first
The great seagulls - to welcome you from above -
The Beethoven of the sea

The coral reefs that curtained the ocean stage
Will soon unveil the dimming sun to present
The acrobatic acts of the dolphins
And the flights of flying fishes

From the trail fins of sharks approaching
To the sea-floor-dance of the sailboats
That brought the joyful waves far-reaching
The applause of sea lions and the penguins' wings

Back to the mouth of the river, now my friend
I‘ll take you home once again
Where the mirror awaits to greet you once more
The smile you had misplaced before

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
Loved By Nature

Again! I'm less of a troubadour to inscribe of what these eyes and mind instilled at this moment, which today becomes past, for tomorrow is our unknown time. What happens next to every minute of our lives—nobody knows! Thus, I am here today and to be thankful to God for giving me another life to live and enjoy His creation:

Welcome to Lake Shasta! (California) , where sunrise richly streaks its morning light onto the water like diamonds pearled onto the aisle of your gallant steps; where wavelets come teasing your feet, as pair of ducks strolls side by side like lovers eloping to mate. Then from the deep woods of pines, choir of birds combined with echoes of children's laughter, this atmospheric indulgence of nature are surreal. And into the night fall, to lie under the moonlight, watch the starry sky, listen to the strings of waves and crickets chirping, you wish to come back again. Good Day!
