Our Tattle-Tale Walk And Talk Poem by Bessie S. Burkett

Our Tattle-Tale Walk And Talk

We are writing a gospel - one episode each day
By deeds that we do and by words that we say
People read what we write - then make mussy-fuss
What is proper gospel according to us?
I'm now safe from condemnable sin - You - God - gave love-proof release
Your only Son to be born - die - arise as our gentle dove of peace
We were all sinners - no light - for darkness fire-pit bound
You plead - take heed - Master calls - "count loss" - forgiven dross
Fallen man - Salvation plan - mayhap - stopgap - heaviness lost
Arise anew - belief review - heart change - feel clean - rejoice!
My soul's set free - I made the sinner's choice
Father! You who guides each separate sparrow's flight
Keep us in constant care by busy day - by restful night
You are a distinguished guard of land - of sea
Hold fast my hand - by your steadfast side keep me
You who properly placed each night-time star
Teach my eyes to espy the correctness - afar
Lure me - prod me - each and every day - in faithfulness to rightfully pray
For defense of my Soul on life's troublesome wearisome way
