Our True Friend Poem by Kazi Maisha

Our True Friend

Shadows which seem immortal
Makes darkness look like our close friend
All the smiles in once active faces now fades into woebegone ones
And the present insinuating hope is diminishing
Yet, did God make life like this?
Oh, so pessimistic and depressing
Why God?
Or, could it have been our malignant minds that touched sin's hands?
Now, sin, did you dance with us?
Is all the optimistic times over?
The happy days when we played with snow
And laughed till our stomachs hurt,
What happened?
Sin seemed to grasp our souls
Well, is it all gone?
No, in God's words-Never
Always taking care of us
And giving us chances
God-our true friend
