Over Poem by Rose Marie Cook

Over

When I looked at you I had to tear my eyes away
When you glanced at me my heart did leaps
Even though we're through
My heart still isn't over you.

Your laughter tears at my core
Your smile pulls at the bridge holding back my tears
Your eyes read me and I must look away
Or my strength will break.

Tear after tear drops
My heart aches
My soul longs
Everything adds up to you.

You stand so close
I could reach out and touch you
But I don't have that privilage anymore.

No longer can my lips taste yours
My hands can't comfort yours anymore
My soul's no longer complete
And without you my heart's empty.

Tears burst through
What's the use in faking it?
I long for you
Always will

I said you were like the others I was wrong
The others just moved on
But now it's over...

Or so I thought.
