Over And Over Again Poem by Will Fiala

Over And Over Again

My holy father, I’m thankful you bothered
Bringing me back to you
I couldn’t see what was waiting for me
Though somehow I knew that you knew

Lucy’s caused trouble through all of my life
Over and over again
Yes you love me and set me free
Washing away tears of sin

Jesus the one, back when I was so young
He let me know all about you
Your loving-kindness, the world and its blindness, and
Candles and lampstands would do

Through crooked lines and troubling times
Over and over again
Yes you loved me and set me free
Washing away tears of sin

How long I’ve waited
How long I’ve prayed for this day
How long I’ve hated this world
How long it took me to get to you

How long I’ve waited
How long I’ve prayed for this day
How long I’ve hated this world
How long it took me to get to you

Now I’m older, my heart’s become bolder
Struggling to start life anew
But you will provide me for you are inside me
My life’s devoted to you

Now I’m so thankful you bothered with me
Over and over again
Yes you love me you’ve set me free
You’ve washed away all my sins

Yes, you’ve washed away all my sins
