Oversensitive Poem by David Floren

Oversensitive

Marcus Aurelius
in his Meditations
Implores us to explore
Our constitution and
Nature, our very core.

Are you able to see
The moon in its fullness
Against the clearest night’s
Heavenly canopy?
I can’t see what blinds me.

The moon becomes ten suns.

I won’t look for fear of
Searing my retinas.
