Owe It To The One Who Gave You A Heart Poem by Jona PoloRamirez

Owe It To The One Who Gave You A Heart

Be thankful you have a heart that loves,
And be grateful for the mind - witty and
Alive, inner feeling masked with happiness,
Fervent prayers full of wishes and dreams.

A hundred years had passed and yet a heart
That's vibrantly alive, a love strengthened
By time, securely growing like a vine.
Watered in droplets coming from the eyes,
Grateful loving mind - yesterday's
Sincerity hang by...

But today's window to the heart, a mirage
To a wistful imagined smile, the longing to
Touch a heart with love, hindered by the
Imagined presence of an elusive smile.

The love eternally declined - to know the time
Forever has gone by. And yet in gratefulness
Acknowledged - the moment in sincerity
Well shared, the witty- mind - remarks defined
The security of feeling will survive.
